Okay, here is how the story goes... Jeremy wanted to see it snow (having never lived in the snow), so we decided to enjoy a long weekend in Big Bear. We drove up on a Thursday night and there was not a flake on the ground. Friday morning we awoke and Jeremy's dream came true!! There it was snowing. We went out to play it in for a bit. Preston really had a good time until it became too cold for him (maybe 10 minutes). And back in the house we went. Well, it kept on snowing, and it never stopped. We did not bring much food and no chains. So we thought we better go into town and pick up a few things. We got everyone packed in the car and warmed up...we went about 2 feet. Back in the house we went. So later that day someone came by and asked if we wanted to get shoveled out. We did not have enough cash, by the way people in Big Bear don't know the words credit card or debit card (just and FYI) so they did not do it. 2nd day... Jeremy used up all his wishes for the rest of his LIFE. Because it still did not stop snowing. There was nothing we could do. Not even the Pizza guy would delieve because he did not want to drive on the streets. 3rd day. Yep still snowing At this point something has to be done. We are so bord, there is nothing to do, the kids are driving us crazy, I can not watch another Barney or Elmo video. We are running out of Milk for the kids, because they are drinking it all the time because we think it will calm them down, then we start to run out of Diapers because they are drinking too much milk. Bad situation. So these 2 guys came to the door and asked if they could shovel us out for a SMALL fee. We said why? we have no chains or money. They said in broken English "we will take you into town for money and chains". Jeremy says "okay". We all said a small and humble prayer and off he went with these guys we did not know. Yes, everything your parents told you not to do. Every minute that passed I got a little more worried. But he came back with chains and cold hard cash. They shoveled the snow and Jeremy put on the chains and into town we went. But ohhhh no, we could not come home, the roads were closed to and from. We went to the store and got a few things (there were only a few things left on the shelves), we also went through McDonalds for our Diet Coke. Then a few days later we were all ready to go home, oh by the way it's still snowing, and we go to pull out of the drive way and here comes the snow plow dudes. Jeremy has to get out of the car and shovel more snow (and ice). I think he must have shoveled snow about 10-20 times. On the way down the mountain Jeremy informed me that he will NEVER live in snow and I informed him I was going to take inventory of our food storge and 3 day emergency kits when we got home.
Harrison cried until we put his new Mickey Mouse shirt on over his sleeper PJs!!
