Dinner Anyone

Each Tuesday afternoon I spend time at the park with the boys and friends. Normally I will toss a Tri Tip aka Prestons favorite meat in the over, set the timer and when we get home dinner is ready. Well today was a typical Tuesday, I stayed a little late at the park and called Jeremy to take the Tri Tip out of the over when he got home. He said okay that he would be there with in 5 minutes. I got a call about 15 minutes later "Well Dana I didn't have to take the roast out of the oven". "Crap, did I forget to put it in". He replied "Ahh noooo, the fire department came over and did it for you." "WHAT". " You need to call them when you get home".

Come to find out the house filled with smoke for what ever reason and the smoke alarms went off. The neighbor called Coto security and they called 911. Luckily the back door was unlocked and they came in, check the entire house, pulled the roast out and opened all the windows. Then they let themselves out. The roast was cooked perfect, I should call and thank them. The neighborhood kids thought it was great. They got to check out the fire truck and got lots of stickers and hats.

I would have been mortified if I came home to find a huge fire truck in my driveway! The police were called too because the fireman had to let themselves in and check the house completely. Note to self, always leave your house clean ... you never know what company is go to stop by while your gone.

Constitution Way

We started a tradition with the boys when Preston was really young. We wanted them to know what Memorial Day was really about and how they should cherish all the freedoms they enjoy. Jeremy's grandfather is also buried at the VA cemetery in Los Angeles. Its actually very close to the LA Temple. This year was really fun. We explained to them all about war, veterans and death. This is the first year that Preston really got "it". Harrison was just plain funny. We visited a different cemetery after this and that when all the fun started! My shoe broke so I was walking around barefoot. All the sudden Harrison yells from about 50 yards away "Hey...look I found were Jesus is buried" There was a picture of Jesus on the headstone. Then he unplugged the flower vase thingy and yelled "Gary are you in there" and then replaced the plug. Preston managed to snap a strophen cross is half and yelled "it did it all by it self". Then proceeded to sit on a fresh grave in the middle of all the flowers. He said he was just resting and smelling all the flowers. It was a fun afternoon and I look forward to next year.
They especially liked to play on the cannons. I love this photo because of all the headstones in the background.
All the flags. It is amazing.

Preston and Harrison looking at there great grandpas grave site. In years past they would take the flag..but this year it never came up.

It was a very windy day so they boys would fix the flags as we walked.

I love this photo, its just so fitting for the weekend. I wish I had my good camera with me, but something is better than nothing.

Last Minute Suprise

Jeremy and I were going to bed last Friday night and were discussing what we need to get done the next day. We decide to wake up early, throw the kids in the car and head to Disneyland for a few rides and brunch. It was awesome. We didn't tell the boys where we were going. We gave them hints the whole way until they finally figured it out. They were very excited. We did a few things and then went to the character breakfast with Jeremy's parents. We were in the car heading home by 1:00.

Mothers Day 2009

i love my kids and i am so proud to be their mom. they make me laugh, cry and feel so blessed. they grow up way to fast, it makes me a little sad and excited for the next stage as well.
preston has spaghetti sauce all over his face, emma's going for the Diet Coke and harrison is just plain silly.

This is what happens when you send your innocent child to school! Who taught my child this and what does it mean? Please enlighten me!

Easter Egg Hunts Galore

We enjoyed soooo many Easter Egg Hunts this year. I don't think I will ever have to buy plastic eggs again. I decided not to hide the 5 dozen real eggs this year, because I actually wanted to use them. Normally the Easter Bunny would hide them the night before. Preston was so upset, I had to convince him that it was all my fault because I didn't set them out. I told him to go upstairs and go back to bed and the Easter Bunny would come back and hide them. It worked, to be young again.
