Babies are magnets to strange and bizarre people. Here is the latest encounters with Emma.
While dropping Preston off at school for the very first time after having Emma a Middle eastern woman who's son is in another class and I have never seen before came up to and the conversation went like this
SBW (strange bizarre woman) - who's baby is that?
Me - Mine
SBW - How old is she? (never really looking at her, just me)
Me - 3 weeks
SBW - But you were never pregnant.
Me - Yep I was, and I gave birth and here she is
They lady still looks at me every time I walk Preston to his class. She thinks I took her or something. I just smile and keep walking.
Now for the strange and bizarre man at Costco.
Emma was sitting in her car seat in the front of the basket and the boys were walking next to me. She was asleep the whole trip but woke up as I was paying and started to cry. I promised the boys if they were good we would have lunch. (I love spending $3.00 on lunch for 2 kids). I stood in line for about 1 minute order, sat the boys down with their pizza and went to get the drinks. Mind you Emma is still crying and wants to be picked up. While getting our drink and middle aged white man taps me on the shoulder and says, "your baby is crying and you need to go take care of her." I reply, "are you kidding me, what do you want me to do? I am getting drinks and then I will. Babies cry and its okay. Apparently you don't have children." He then says if you don't stop the crying I am going to call the cops." I am in full laughing mode now with about 20 hungry hot dog eatin' people in line watching me and listening to the crying. I reply " Call, I welcome them!"
Why do I have to be alone when this stuff happens. Where are my bold friends or my 6' 4" husband with no control of his mouth around stupid people. Why does this only happen when you just had a baby?
Something of this sort happened when I had Harrison, at the same Costco food Court. Although I was with Kristin, and some how I had a lot more courage then. We were eating at a table with our children, both newborns in their car seats, in the baskets next to our table. When an older women who did not speak English came and moved our baskets with our kids in them and replaced it with her basket of food. She argued with us that she need to keep an eye on her basket of food. Needless to say Kristin and I explained how important it was not to touch other people's babies. I believe the conversation went on for about 10 minutes, not pretty!

Yes... He Is My Son
I came across this worksheet from Preschool when I was cleaning out Harrison's backpack. I am guessing that it's a picture of me since it says Mom at the top. I wonder if he would describe me as a Mrs. Potato Head with out arms, only a patch of hair and a unabrow. I want to point out that he thinks I'm happy.......I'm smiling!

On New Years Day it is a tradition around this house to watch the Twilight Zone Marathon. Harrison LOVES the Eye of the Beholder episode. You know it's the one where everyone has pig faces and there is a beautiful girl that just wants to look like everyone else. We went to Chickfila for lunch and to let the kids play when all of the sudden Harrison yells out "Look Pig Face". (That's what we call the episode.) Jeremy and I looked over and he was right the poor guy did have a pig face. I had to sit there and council Harrison that he could not say that again. It was so innocent, he was not being mean he was simpling saying Hey Look he's on my favorite eposide of Twilight Zone.

Do you or Don't you
Once Emma's belly button fell off and she could have a "bath" this MMW post http://www.mormonmommywars.com/?p=1529 came to mind. I started giving her a bath every other day at night with the boys. Those nights she seemed to sleep so much better and I wanted to start a routine so now Emma enjoys a nice warm bath every night at 7:00pm and then off to bed. By the way...I don't care that there are 100 comments on MMW that say they only give there kids a bath once a week!

Join the Club
they both joined the No Cavity Club. I finally took my kids to the dentist. I know....I am a bad mother blah blah blah blah. I KNEW they really didn't need to go and I was right. There teeth are perfect. They even said that Preston will most likely not need braces and he doesn't need to floss. When is the last time a dentist told you, you didn't have to floss?

Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam....
Harrison graduated from Nursery in style. He is very excited to be in Primary and loves his new teacher. He says he is "Big Now".

Once Harrison received his diploma, he immediately used it as a telescope and chanted I can see you. My favorite part about this photo is the girls looking at him and his huge smile.

Whats a party with out a rice crispy treat at 10:00 in the morning?

This and That
What beats an afternoon riding bikes, watching the trash trucks go by and throwing back a cold one with good friends? This is how Kristin and I found the boys the other day.
I came home to a clean house but something was off. Apparently the housekeeper thought that the Sheppard holding the sheep should be the center of the nativity and Mary and Baby Jesus should just hang out with the wise men.
