We started a tradition with the boys when Preston was really young. We wanted them to know what Memorial Day was really about and how they should cherish all the freedoms they enjoy. Jeremy's grandfather is also buried at the VA cemetery in Los Angeles. Its actually very close to the LA Temple. This year was really fun. We explained to them all about war, veterans and death. This is the first year that Preston really got "it". Harrison was just plain funny. We visited a different cemetery after this and that when all the fun started! My shoe broke so I was walking around barefoot. All the sudden Harrison yells from about 50 yards away "Hey...look I found were Jesus is buried" There was a picture of Jesus on the headstone. Then he unplugged the flower vase thingy and yelled "Gary are you in there" and then replaced the plug. Preston managed to snap a strophen cross is half and yelled "it did it all by it self". Then proceeded to sit on a fresh grave in the middle of all the flowers. He said he was just resting and smelling all the flowers. It was a fun afternoon and I look forward to next year.
